6th-8th Grade Teachers

Mrs. Kellie Michelsen: 6th Grade Homeroom, 6th-8th Language Arts & Literature

 Mrs. Michelsen joined St. Ambrose School in 2009 with her Bachelor's degree in Social Science Education from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and is certified in Social Science and English, grades 6-8 and has her Masters in Educational Leadership.  She was honored as the 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year at St. Ambrose.  In her spare time, Mrs. Michelsen is an avid marathon runner, Disney fanatic, and loves traveling and spending time with her husband and 3 children.

She is eagerly anticipating a wonderful school year with her favorite subjects of Literature and Language Arts. A product of 13 years of Catholic school education, Mrs. Michelsen seeks to give back to the community that formed her in the adult she is today. 
 

Ms. Tara Bartos, 7th Grade Homeroom, 6th-8th Grade Science & Math  

Ms. Bartos is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology.  She is a product of Catholic Education herself, and has been teaching within the Archdiocese of Miami for the past 7 years.  Ms. Bartos enjoys spending time with family, watching her sons play baseball, and loves all things Disney.  Her hobbies include photography, reading and volunteering in the community.

She is excited to join the faculty of St. Ambrose and is looking forward to a great year!


Mr. Les Modlics: 8th Grade Homeroom, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Religion & Social Studies

My name is Les Modlics and this is my 4th year teaching at Saint Ambrose.  I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Religion and Social Studies for the 2017/2018 school year.  Prior to joining the St. Ambrose family, I taught 5th grade for seven years within the Archdiocese of Miami and I am a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science.  On a personal note, I have been married to my beautiful wife for eleven years and we have two wonderful sons who are in elementary school.  I look forward to an exciting year!
