Technology in the Classrooms: Chromebooks,SMART Boards with projectors, & iPads

Saint Ambrose Catholic School has been 1:1 Chromebooks in Middle School, grades 6th-8th, since the 2016-2017 school year. Since the introduction of Google Classroom, middle school is now 95% paperless, with formative and summative assessment presented on a digital platform. Monitored by Hapara and Gaggle, students are provided the opportunity to become responsible digital citizens in a Catholic environment.

Lower elementary cannot be left out of these digital enhancements. 3rd grade and 5th grade are both 1:1 chromebooks, 4th grade is 1:1 iPads, while Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades each have an iPad cart for their use.

Each classroom for all grades is equipped with a SMART board or a projector in order to provide interactive lessons. Zoom and Google Meets power our digital lessons as the school successfully shifted to remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing IXL, Renaissance Learning, HMH,  SeeSaw, Google Suites for Education, digital textbooks, and more, our school was able to adapt to the ever-changing climate that 2020 brought us. Currently offering in-person and remote learning simultaneously, Saint Ambrose School has continued to deliver their curriculum as well as opportunities to attend mass.
